Why Christians Shouldn’t Vote

“I can’t vote for any of them.” How many times have you heard that statement? Or, “I would be voting for the lesser of two evils.” Why should a Christian vote at all if the entire list for an office is worldly, ungodly or corrupt? So many choices for some offices. “I am only one vote. I cannot make a difference. My vote will be staying home. Buried.” If you feel that way you are the last man in the parable.

But he who received the one talent went away and dug a hole in the ground, and hid his master’s money. Matthew 25:18 NASB

United States of America, a Republic (not a democracy) governed BY the people, FOR the people. By His grace you were born here. God has given you something to be a steward of, YOUR VOTE. Are you going to sit on it, effectively burying it as the parable demonstrates?

ROMANS 13:1-3 NASB

1Every person is to be subject to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and those which exist are established by God. 2Therefore whoever resists authority has opposed the ordinance of God; and they who have opposed will receive
condemnation upon themselves. 3For rulers are not a cause of fear for good behavior, but for evil. Do you want to have no fear of authority? Do what is good and you will have praise from the same;

So when you do not vote, you are in essence disobeying God. He put you in America where the government is by the people… so vote. No excuses. Research. If none or worthy, vote their policies. Vote God’s morality, not candidates.

Why shouldn’t a Christian vote? Only if they don’t want God to have the vote.
