Making it WOK for you!

WOK’s are great and there are so many things you can do to provide meals for your family.  Here are several variations on a theme.

What you’ll need:

  • Chicken, Beef or Pork (strips or cubes are the best)  About your fist size for each person (4 – 6 oz)
  • Olive oil
  • Chopped Onions
  • WOK pan
  • Simply Asia Stir-Fry Sauce (About $1 a packet at many stores – I use 1 packet for 2 people – you can add more as needed)
  • Sesame Seeds (optional)
  • Frozen Japanese vegetables for stir frying (Albertson’s has their brand as I am sure others do) Or you can add packages of frozen broccoli, peas, carrots, etc.  Use your imagination to improvise)
  • Rice (Steamed rice or for those that prefer packages: Rice-A-Roni Nature’s Way Long Grain & Wild Rice in a box – or any rice you like to make)

What you’ll do:

  1. Add 1-2 tbsp of Olive oil to pan and turn stove to a medium heat (if your stove is 1-10, then 4-5 is a good medium)
  2. place meat and chopped onions in pan and cover (turn as needed to cook on all sides)
  3. Cook rice (while it’s making you’ll finish the WOK)
  4. When meat is done you pour over the Simply Asia sauce
  5. Spread frozen vegetables over mixture and cover
  6. When rice is done the vegetables in the WOK should be tender

Serve the rice and WOK mixture side by side or the WOK mixture on top of the rice.  By using different meats, different Simply Asia sauce flavors (here’s a site with all the varieties)  as well as different rices or even noodles, you can make a variety of meals for your family.  Experiment and ENJOY!
